Skincare layering

It’s definitely in the middle of winter and I’d like to think we’re all geared up for the cold season right? From the essential skincare products to ensure your skin remains moisturized and dewy to the reason why you need to switch up your skincare routine. See why I am sure you’re definitely covered? Lol haha… We’re not done yet though. Make sure you have the right order in place before you rejoice at having generated the perfect “15-step skincare routine”.

Have you heard about skincare layering? Well, no worries if you don’t because I’ve got the need to know for you

Believe it or not, having the right products is only half the battle. It’s also essential how you layer your skincare products. Even though it seems that whatever you put on first doesn’t matter, the order you use makes a difference in how your skin processes what you put on it.

So for instance, if you decided to apply your serum before an essence or sunscreen before your moisturizer, your complexion isn’t able to soak up all the benefits.

  • Skincare products contain both active and inactive ingredients to treat a variety of skin problems, from acne to dark circles. By layering skincare products correctly, you allow active ingredients to penetrate the skin effectively.
  • The right order of layering skincare products leads to increased absorption into the skin.
  • Combine ingredients safely: Knowing which active ingredients you should mix together and which you should not is important when using multiple skincare products. In this way, the pH balance of the skin is not disrupted, and the pH levels are not irritated.
  • UV rays damage your skin, so dermatologists recommend layering SPF 30+ after vitamin C and alpha-hydroxy acids in your morning skincare routine to prevent the skin from being damaged by the sun.

Let’s elaborate in the correct order.

With an endless list of serums and four types of cleansers and moisturizing creams, one wonders how to remain calm twice a day.

The rule of thumb is to start with your thinnest products and work your way up to the thickest.

Obviously, your cleansers will always come first, no matter how thick, but after, go by weight. Toners and essences should be followed by serums, followed by eye cream, then your moisturizer. At night, you can finish with a serum or oil if you like; however some serums can be applied during the day too. If you have a morning routine, apply SPF last and every single day!

One last thing though, Supple Skin will be launching new products really soon, you’ll definitely be the first to know when it launches so gather your coins to secure the new range to achieve your total revamped skin by the end of winter.
